For the last 16 years, we are running vocational training programs for poor and needy tribal women with the co-operation of district Panchayat, block Panchayat and grama Panchayat. National Service Society of India could emerge as a credible organization in the district of Palakkad with its voluntary and social service activities during the last 16 years.

 

We are conducting several welfare economic programmes to the tribal women and children’s, whose income is below poverty line. Due to the poor economic conditions, the health of the women and children, living below poverty line, is worst and they are starving for nutritious food.

 

These area is thickly populated ( Anakkatty area of Attappadi) by the wondering women and children may be HIV/AIDS positive peoples, mainly settled from neighboring state of thamilnadu and they have no shelter and to be rehabilitee for which financial assistance is required.

 

Self employment programmes, such as tailoring, computer training etc have introduced with out own efforts for women between seventeen and forty-five of age. If the required financial assistance is forthcoming, the Programme could be well introduced.

 

The organization has sponsored a literacy center and rural functional literacy campaign with the assistance of the Kerala State Literacy Mission Authority. This agency actively participated with state sponsored derive for achieving 100% of literacy in Kerala, on the time found basis. In the meantime, the organization has also started programmes such as in Palakkad district the support of few well established NGO, s. programmes were Non-formal and continuing education for new literariness were also implemented in the tribal areas of the district of Palakkad in Kerala state.

 

The organization has actively involves in conducting family welfare camps, medical camps, national integration camps, Awareness generation camps, for the poor an needy tribal women, in the tribal areas of Palakkad district with the financial support of Kerala State Social Welfare Board.

 

The organization provides financial support of Rs 1000/- for two or three poor scheduled cast/ tribe girls in each year the educational purpose.

 

Mothers meetings are held regularly for discussing about mother and nutrition’s, sanitation and hygiene and women and children.

 

The organization has actively participated in the following stratum of social welfare programmes like IRDP, TRYSEM, And Group Economic Activity for Women, Credit Camp and IRDP beneficiaries committee.

 

Family welfare programmes and immunization camps, Social Forestry programmes, Such as seedlings of plants, Health, Education, HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns, Drinking water and Ante population derives.

 

Various pension schemes such as Agriculture workers pension, widow pensions, old age pension and its ways and means to achieve it.

 

Over and above, the activities mentioned, this society has taken initiates for the uplift health education and to lead the younger generations towards the constructive sides of the social activities during the last fifteen y ears. This society is also in forefront of the younger generation for the promotion of the students- youth movement which above cast, creed and religion

 

In order to achieve these goals the society is in the forefront of the tribal student- young generation and conducting following activities. Study classes, group studies, seminars, training camps, cultural activities, workshops on literatures, study tours, physically activities, agricultural programmes, adult education programmes,continuing education programmes,free learning material distribution, reading room and library, blood donation forum and medical camps etc… to achieve objects of the society.

 

We have conducted a survey to find out the patients in Attappadi hill area. In addition, the final have affected with sickle cell anemia. We have conduct a mass feeding and medical camps and supplied free medicine kits.

 

The society also have admit the poor students to for free cost training for vocational training programme , and the up lift of adivasi and other peoples of weaker sections and have conducted medical camps also have taken an active part in assisting the people of Attappadi, mainly tribes when their lives are danger due to sickle cell anemia. Every year about thousand or more peoples are enjoyed the benefit of the charitable service of the society and several project are being implemented from time to time.
